HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-10-0035 Backup 4-26-2010Rom/; LF.r � - JUNE 23-26, MIAMI 2"d Annual City of Miami/American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Community Showcase 2010 Program Proposal Program Overview: Schedule of Activities: Friday, June 25 8:00 am — 7:00 pm Saturday, June 26 8:00 am -7:00 pm The City of Miami1ABFF Community Showcase was successfully launched in 2009 as a partnership between with the City of Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), the American Black Film Festival and the Film Life Foundation. Participating sponsors included the University of Miami, CBS, Comcast, Downtown Development Authority, and the Miami Times. The goal of the Showcase is to inspire and educate youth in the Overtown community on the career opportunities and diverse disciplines in the film and television industry. In addition, the Showcase seeks promote economic development in the Overtown, Park West and Omni redevelopment areas as well as position them as desirable locations for film and television production. Scheduled activities for the 2010 Showcase will be held from Thursday, June 25 through Sunday, June 27, in conjunction with the 14th annual ABFF. Shop, Dine, Explore Express Trolley- Day 1 CRA will provide complimentary trolley service from the ABFF's host hotel (Ritz Carlton in Miami Beach) to venues in the City of Miami with stops at iconic landmarks and destination sites. Trolley Stops: Ritz Carlton, Big Time Productions (Ice Palace), Adrienne Arsht Performing. Arts Center, Jackson Soul Food, Guzman Theater, Miami Riverwalk, and Bayside. Trolley leaves every 20 minutes from the Ritz Carlton Shop, Dine, Explore Express Trolley -Day 2 1 10:30 am-2:30 am Sunday, June 27 8:00 am -2:00 pm 5:00 pm-8:00 pm Booker T. Washington Senior High School ABFF Closing Night Party The CRA will co -host the festival's closing night party in conjunction with Grey Goose. The event will be held at the Ice Palace for approximately 1500 credential festival guests. CRA to cover all expenses of the event (venue, dzcor and h'dourves, bar) including round trip transportation for 1000 persons from the Lincoln Theater in Miami Beach. Grey Goose will provide specialty cocktails and cover service fees. Shop, Dine, Explore Express Trolley -Day 3 "Best of the ABFF" Community Screening The week closes with a cocktail reception and special screening of an award winning film featured at this year's festival. The screening will be free to members of the community as a first come first served basis. The ABFF will be responsible securing the film and travel for its director or starring actor. The CRA will be responsible for providing the venue, reception costs and all audio visual/production needs. Subject to barter media arrangement with Clear Channel Outdoor • CRA logo on Sponsor's page of festival Website • CRA logo included in festival E-Newsletters Marketing (On -site): • Festival Signage: CRA logo on Festival welcome banners • Program Guide: One (1) full -page ad in the festival digital program guide Public Relations: • Company name included in official press releases Festival Access & Hospitality: • Ten (10) VIP Sponsor passes allowing access to all official festival events • Express entry to films and evening events • Access to pre -seating for Opening Night and Closing Night Gala screenings • Access to VIP registration suite CRA Commitments: Pay sponsorship fee for the "Best of the ABFF" Community Screening-S25,000 Pay sponsorship fee for integration of Shop, Dine, Explore Express Trolley into festival program-S5,000 • Cover costs associated with the ABFF Closing Night Party as described above. • Print 5000 copies of ABFF Mini Program. The guide will be approximately 16 pages 7
