HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-09-0029 Legislationr 1'. iRcau u _ City of Miami Legislation CRA Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 09-00427 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DESIGN -BUILD RENOVATION OF THE BUILDING AT THE CORNER OF N.W. 3RD AVENUE AND N.W. 14TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA FOR USE AS A RESTAURANT BY TWO GUYS RESTAURANT, INC. WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency is responsible for carrying out redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, Section III.B., at page 13, of the 1982 Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan, as amended, lists "[m]aintain[ing] existing businesses and attract[ing] new business" as a stated redevelopment objective; and WHEREAS, the CRA purchased the property at 1201-21 N.W. 3rd Avenue, Miami, Florida 0(1201 property") for redevelopment; and • WHEREAS, Two Guys Restaurant, Inc. currently occupies commercial space at the 1201 property and must be relocated prior to redevelopment; and WHEREAS, Two Guys Restaurant, Inc. has entered into a lease for a more suitable location at the corner of N.W. 3rd Avenue and N.W. 14th Street, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the issuance of a request for qualifications for the design -build renovation of the new location; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The issuance of a request for qualifications for the design -build renovation of the building at the corner of N.W. 3rd Avenue and N.W. 14th Street, Miami, Florida, for use as restaurant by Two Guys Restaurant, Inc., is authorized. Section 3. The selected respondent and proposed contract shall be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for approval. Section 4.
