HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-09-0004 BackupMIAMI � Communhtvll( bdeveloDmeut Agency SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN f PARK WEST I OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT I MIDTOWN SMALL BUSINESS ECONOMIC STIMULUS AND JOB CREATION GRANT PROGRAM SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST, OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT, AND MIDTOWN COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCIES 49 N.W. 5TH Street, Ste. 100I Miami, FL 33128 / Telephone: (305) 679-6800 / Facsimile (305) 679-6835 Email: cra(&ci.miami,ft.us. 1 Wehsite: verrw.miami-cra.org PROGRAM DESCRIPTION In an effort to spur job retention and creation and support small businesses during these tough economic times, the Southeast Overtown/Park West and Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agencies ("CRA") have created the Small Business Economic Stimulus and Job Creation Grant Program ("Grant Program"), for qualified small businesses throughout the Southeast Overtown/Park West and Omni Redevelopment Areas ("Redevelopment Areas"). The Grant Program provides financial assistance, in an amount not to exceed $5,000, for equipment and fixtures, interior renovations, insurance (prospectively purchased), security systems, marketing and advertising, and utilities used at the commercial property. Qualified applicants are businesses that: • have been in operation for a minimum of one (1) year (proof required); • are located within the Redevelopment Areas and have a physical address as a mailing address (P.O. Boxes are not acceptable); • have no more than fifteen (15) full-time employees (NOTE: Two (2) part-time employees equals one (1) full-time employee). • present a current Occupational License or paid receipt. • present a current Certificate of Use. • are not delinquent in any fees or payments to the City of Miami or CRA, and have not been in breach of any agreement with the City of Miami or CRA Home -based businesses and non-profit corporations may not apply. Furthermore, applicants that relocate outside of either Redevelopment Area during the consideration of their application will be disqualified. Preference will be given to those applicants who have not previously received funding from the CRA. Successful applicants will be required to sign a Grant Agreement, submit all requested documentation, and attend business training courses designated by the CRA.
