Villacorta, Executive Director Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency 49 N.W. 5th Street, Suite 100 Miami, FL 33128 Mr. Villacorta, Enclosed please find for your review and consideration a Scope of Services and Budget for "Folklife Fridays." "Folklife Fridays" is a monthly open-air market to be held for six consecutive months on the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall. We believe that "Folklife Fridays" can evolve into a monthly festival that will provide an opportunity for local businesses to promote their goods and services to residents and visitors. With the development of Miami -Dade County's Transit Building, housing approximately 2,000 employees, and the close proximity of Park Place and Bay View residences, "Folklife Fridays" can provide the spark needed to highlight the positive changes that are taking place in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Area. The event will showcase approximately thirty (30) local vendors, selling a variety of items, such as arts and crafts, books, jewelry, clothing, and food. As an added bonus, we will have the New World Center School of the Arts Jazz Band give a live performance during the lunch hour and a DJ to play popular music throughout the event. We would like to thank you for your continued support in partnering with the Overtown Community in helping to make it a better place for its residents and businesses. Sincerely, Jackie Bell Executive Director • • • New Washington Heights Community Development Conference, Inc. 1600 NW 3rd Ave * Miami, Florida 33136 * Phone (305) 576-3084 * Fax (305) 573-2329 Building Better Communities Scope of Services New Washington Heights ("NWH") will be responsible for producing "Folk Life Fridays" on the 9th Street Mall.
