A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA")
AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT OF THE CRA'S GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
VETERANS EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION SERVICES, INC. AND CAMILLUS
HOUSE, INC. FOR THE HOSPITALITY INSTITUTE JOB TRAINING AND JOB
PLACEMENT PILOT PROGRAM TO MIAMI-DADE COLLEGE; AUTHORIZING
ADDITIONAL FUNDING, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000;
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL
COUNSEL; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND,
ENTITLED "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE NO.
10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA")
is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects in the Southeast
Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Area in accordance with its Redevelopment Plan
("Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the Plan, at Page 13, Section III B, lists as a specific objective the provision of
"better employment opportunities and upward job mobility for [Overtown] residents"; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-07-0015, passed and
adopted on March 26, 2007, authorized the issuance of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $100,000,
to Veterans Employment Transition Services, Inc. ("VETS"), with Camillus House, Inc. serving as a
fiscal and administrative agent, for the creation of a hospitality institute job training and job placement
pilot program ("Hospitality Institute"); and
WHEREAS, Section 23, at page 11, of the grant agreement between VETS, Camillus House,
Inc. and the CRA, dated December 14, 2007, provides that "[t]he obligations of VETS and CAMILLUS
under this Agreement shall not be delegated or assigned to any other party without the CRA's prior
written consent.. ,"; and
WHEREAS, Miami -Dade College has provided technical assistance to the Hospitality Institute,
and is in a position to obtain additional funding and expand the program; and
WHEREAS, VETS and Camillus House, Inc. wish to assign the grant agreement to
Miami -Dade College, and Miami -Dade College wishes to accept this assignment; and
WHEREAS, Miami -Dade College has requested that the grant be extended for an additional
year; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the assignment and allocated an

additional $100,000 to the Hospitality Institute;
II NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The assignment of the CRA's grant agreement with Veterans Employment
Transition Services, Inc. and Camillus House, Inc. for the Hospitality Institute Job Training and Job
Placement pilot program to Miami -Dade College, and additional funding, in an amount not to exceed
$100,000, is authorized.
Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for
said purpose, in a form acceptable to General Counsel.
Section 4. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment. Funds, entitled "Other
Grants and Aids," Account Code No. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
