VillacortReferences:, Executive Director Enclosures: Supporting Documentation: Legislation BACKGROUND: The attached resolution authorizes a grant. in an amount not to exceed $25,000 to The Women's Alliance, Inc. dlb/a Chapter 2 Clothing, for inventory, fixtures, fittings, signage and wardrobe vouchers. Since February 3, 2006, The Women's Alliance, Inc. has operated Chapter 2 Clothing, a resale clothing store in the Dorsey House. catering to men and women seeking to re-enter the workforce. Recently, The Women's Alliance, Inc. has received an increased number of requests for wardrobe support for homeless and low-income residents in transition. This grant will allow the store to obtain additional inventory, fixtures, fittings, signage. and to issue more wardrobe vouchers to those re-entering the workforce. JUSTIFICATION: This grant furthers the Redevelopment Plan's objective of providing "better employment opportunities and upward job mobility for residents' as set forth at page 13, Section III.B of the Redevelopment Plan.
