A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING A GRANT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000, TO
ROOTS IN THE CITY, INC. FOR LANDSCAPING, SIGNAGE, AND ONE YEAR OF
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS WITHIN THE
REDEVELOPMENT AREA; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AT HIS
DISCRETION, TO DISBURSE THE GRANT FUNDS ON A REIMBURSEMENT
BASIS, OR DIRECTLY TO SUB -GRANTEES AND VENDORS, UPON
PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION;
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE; FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000 TO
BE ALLOCATED FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER GRANTS
AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency is
responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects in accordance with its
approved Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, °upgrad[ing] the overall pedestrian environment through landscaping ..., etc" is a
recommended improvement set forth in Section IV, C., paragraph 1, at page 27, of the 1982
Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan, as amended: and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-06-0050, passed adopted
on November 27, 2006, authorized a grant to Roots In The City, Inc., for landscaping, signage, and
maintenance along Northwest Third Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Roots In The City, Inc. has requested that the grant be renewed for fiscal year
2008 in the amount of $100,000, and the area be expanded to include the entire redevelopment area;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. A grant, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, to Roots In The City, Inc. for

landscaping, signage, and one year of landscape maintenance at various locations within the
redevelopment area, is authorized.
Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized, at his discretion, to disburse the grant on a
reimbursement basis, or directly to sub -grantees and vendors, upon receipt of invoices and
satisfactory documentation.
Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said
purpose.
Section 5. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Other Grants and
Aids," Account Code No. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
