A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY WAIVING
MINOR IRREGULARITIES AND AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF A WORK ORDER, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $85,546.08, TO WEED -A -WAY, INC. FOR
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AND CLEARING OF NINETEEN (19) CRA-OWNED
PROPERTIES, INCLUDING THE GRAND PROMENADE AND 9TH STREET
PEDESTRIAN MALL, FOR ONE YEAR, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR ONE
ADDITIONAL YEAR; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT
FUND ENTITLED "OTHER CONTRACTUAL," ACCOUNT CODE NO.
10050.920101.534000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA")
owns certain properties, including the Grand Promenade and the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall, which
require landscape maintenance every two weeks including the clearing of trash and debris; and
WHEREAS, on March 21, 2007, the CRA published Request for Service No. 07-01 a for
landscape maintenance and clearing services for these properties; and
WHEREAS, the CRA received four bids and Weed -A -Way, Inc. was determined to be the
lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a total bid of $85,546.08; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize issuance of a Work Order to
Weed -A -Way, Inc. for landscape maintenance and clearing of these properties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Board of Commissioners waives minor irregularities and authorizes issuance of a
Work Order, in an amount not to exceed $85,546.08, to Weed -A -Way, Inc. for landscape
maintenance and clearing of nineteen (19) CRA owned properties including the Grand Promenade
and 9th Street Pedestrian Mall for one year with the option to renew for one additional year.
Section 3. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund entitled "Other
Contractual," Account Code No. 10050.920101.534000.0000.00000.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
