Subject Ratification of Expenditure for
Workers' Compensation Insurance

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Boards of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West and Omni
Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRAs) approve the attached Joint Resolution ratifying the actions of
the Executive Director in renewing the Worker's Compensation Insurance Policy for CRA employees with
Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust (PGIT) in an amount of $9,286 for the period of October 1, 2006 to
September 30, 2007.
JUSTIFICATION:
State law requires that the CRAs insure their employees for worker's compensation claims. PGIT was
obtained to provide this service for both CRAs through the City of Miami's Insurance Agent Brown and
Brown beginning in 2004. This action ratifies the Executive Director's renewal of the policy in October of
2006 and will be in effect until September 30, 2007.
FUNDING SOURCE: $9,286 from General Operating Fund, Account No.
10030.920101.896000.0000.00000, entitled "Insurance -Liability."
