BOX 330708 MIAMI, FLORiDA 33233-0708 (305) 250-5400 FAX (305) 250-5410 Re: PAC Super Block Streetscape Improvement-Project-B-30361 Subject: Construction Funding Shortfall Dear Mr. Rollason, The Super Block Streetscape Improvement Project is currently under funded by $554,255.22. The City of Miami is formally requesting that the CRA provide the additional funding necessary to successfully complete this work. This will ensure the contractor can complete this work within the original time frame specified for the project. As you are aware, the City of Miami began construction of these street improvements prior to receipt of final contractor pricing in order to meet the September 2006 completion date required to support the PAC opening. Once the pricing of the project (in accordance with the pre -established unit costs in the executed master contract between the City of Miami and Weekley Asphalt) was received and reviewed, it was immediately apparent that additional funding was required. This need for additional funding was not attributable to a change order or cost overrun, but rather to the final construction contract pricing exceeding the original engineer's estimate. Please advise in writing when we may expect the release of the funds. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to call me at (305) 416-1027. Sincerely, Mary H.
