HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-05-0035 LegislationCity of Miami Legislation CRA Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 wwww.ci.miami.fl.us • File Number: 05-00748 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING A GRANT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000, TO THE MIAMI WOMAN'S CLUB TO FUND STUDIES OF THE BUILDING AT 1737 NORTH BAYSHORE DRIVE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: (1) PREPARATION OF MEASURED DRAWINGS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARDS ESTABLISHED BY THE HISTORIC AMERICAN BUILDINGS SURVEY; (2) A STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING A 40-YEAR RE -CERTIFICATION; (3) A BOUNDARY AND TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY; (4) A PROPERTY APPRAISAL AND AZ NGASBESTOS THE SURVEY; AND (6) A BAYWALKIMARINA FESI IL TY STUDY; AUTHORIZING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AT HIS DISCRETION, TO DISBURSE THE GRANT ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS FOR COMPLETED AND APPROVED WORK, OR DIRECTLY TO SUPPLIERS AND VENDORS, UPON RECEIPT OF INVOICES AND SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM OMNI TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 686001.590320.6.940. WHEREAS, the building occupied by The Miami Woman's Club at 1737 North Bayshore Drive, Miami, Florida is located within the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency's ("CRA") redevelopment area, has received designation as a historic site by the Miami City Commission and the State of Florida, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and WHEREAS, the building is in need of major rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, The Miami Woman's Club has requested a grant from the CRA, in the amount of $ 100,000, to conduct various surveys and studies prior to proceeding with the building's restoration; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors wishes to authorize the grant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. A grant, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, to The Miami Woman's Club to fund studies of the building at 1737 North Bayshore Drive, Miami, Florida, including, but not limited to: (1) preparation of measured drawings in accordance with the standards established by the Historic City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 9/14/2005 Fife Number: 05-00748 American Buildings Survey; (2) a structural analysis for the purpose of obtaining a 40-year re- certification; (3) a boundary and topographic survey; (4) a property appraisal and title search; (5) an asbestos survey; and (6) a baywalk/marina feasibility study is authorized. Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized, at his discretion, to disburse the grant on a reimbursement basis for completed and approved work, or directly to suppliers and vendors, upon receipt of invoices and satisfactory documentation. Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said purpose. Section 5. Funds are to be allocated from OMNI Tax Increment Fund, "Other Grants and Aids," Account Code No. 666001.590320.6.940. Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
