A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING A GRANT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000, TO MIART
FOUNDATION, INC. ("MIART") TO UNDERWRITE A PORTION OF THE COST OF
THE 2005 ART BASEL LISTED EVENT ENTITLED "OMNIART - MIAMI III,"
CONTINGENT UPON MIART DEMONSTRATING THAT IT HAS SECURED
FUNDING FOR THE BALANCE OF THE EVENT'S BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AT HIS DISCRETION, TO DISBURSE THE GRANT
FUNDS ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS TO MIART OR DIRECTLY TO
SUB -GRANTEES OR VENDORS UPON PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND
SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM OMNI
TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE
NO.686001.590320.6.940.
WHEREAS, previous Art Basel events underwritten by grants from the Omni Redevelopment
District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") have brought positive national and international
attention to the Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, the MIART Foundation, Inc. ("MIART"), has requested that the CRA provide a
grant to underwrite the presentation of "OMNIART - MIAMI III," a 2005 Art Basel listed event which
showcases the Omni Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, support for this event is consistent with the revitalization strategy of creating "the
image of a desirable high quality 'uptown' district with an attractive appearance, a 24-hour activity
pattern, and a perception of safety and security" as provided in Section IV, Page 11, of the 1986
Omni Area Redevelopment Plan, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors wishes to authorize the grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. A grant, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, to the MIART Foundation, Inc. to
underwrite a portion of the cost of the 2005 Art Basel listed event entitled "OMNIART - MIAMI I11," is
authorized contingent upon MIART demonstrating that it has secured funding for the balance of the
event's budget,
Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized, at his discretion, to disburse said grant

funds, on a reimbursement basis to MIART, or directly to approved sub -grantees or vendors upon
presentation of invoices and satisfactory documentation.
Section 4. Funds for the grant shall be allocated from OMNI Tax Increment Fund, "Other
Grants and Aids," Account Code No. 686001.590320.6.940.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
