A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA"),
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXTEND THE EXISTING
AGREEMENT WITH ENCORE SERVICES, INC. FOR SHORING AND BRACING
OF THE WARD ROOMING HOUSE, 249-51-53-55 NORTHWEST 9TH STREET,
MIAMI, FLORIDA, ON A MONTH -TO -MONTH BASIS, AS NEEDED, FROM
OCTOBER 1, 2004 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2005, AT A COST NOT TO
EXCEED $1,700 PER MONTH, OR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $20,400;
FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND -
"CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 689001.550108.6,860.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") has
acquired title to the Ward Rooming House, 249-51-53-55 Northwest 9th Street, Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the building is in a deteriorated state and requires shoring to prevent its collapse and
possible injury to the public; and
WHEREAS, Encore Builders, Inc. was engaged pursuant to Resolution Nos. SEOPW/CRA
R-03-83, passed and adopted on September 29, 2003 and SEOPW/CRA R-04-08, passed and
adopted on January 26, 2004, to provide shoring and bracing from August 2003 through September
30, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors wishes to continue the shoring and bracing on a
month -to -month basis, as needed, through September 30, 2005;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Executive Director is authorized to extend the existing agreement with Encore
Services, Inc. for shoring and bracing of the Ward Rooming House, 249-51-53-55 Northwest 9th
Street, Miami, Florida, on a month -to -month basis, as needed, from October 1, 2004 through
September 30, 2005, at a cost not to exceed $1,700 per month, or a total amount not to exceed
$20,400.
Section 3. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund - "Construction in
Progress," Account Code No. 689001.550108.6.860.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
