A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
RATIFYING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S ISSUANCE OF WORK ORDER NO.
04-27, ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS, TO T.Y. LIN INTERNATIONAL/H.J. ROSS
FOR ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE WARD
ROOMING HOUSE, 249-255 NORTHWEST 9TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $80,541.50; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM
SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND - "CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS," ACCOUNT
CODE NO. 689001.550108.6.860.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") has
acquired the Ward Rooming House at 249-255 Northwest 9th Street, Miami, Florida, with the intent to
rehabilitate, restore and preserve the building as a historic structure; and
WHEREAS, due to its deteriorated and fragile state, the Ward Rooming House is in imminent
danger of collapse posing a danger to the health, welfare and safety of the general public; and
WHEREAS, based on the state of the building and the hazards posed, the Executive Director
issued Work Order 04-27, on an emergency basis, to T.Y. Lin International/H.J. Ross for architectural
and engineering services necessary to rehabilitate, restore and preserve the building; and
WHEREAS, the CRA's Board of Directors wishes to ratify the Executive Director's issuance of
Work Order No. 04-27;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Board of Directors ratifies the Executive Director's issuance of Work Order No. 04
-27, on an emergency basis, to T.Y. Lin International/H.J. Ross for architectural and engineering
services for the Ward Rooming House, 249-255 Northwest 9th Street, Miami, Florida, in an amount
not to exceed $80,541.50.
Section 3. Funds to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund - "Construction In Progress,"
Account Code 689001.550108.6.860.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
