See exhibit attachments. The properties sought are vacant parcels located directly south of the Historic Mt Zion Baptist Church. Originally disrupted by the construction of 1-95 Freeway, proposed improvements will go a long way toward redeveloping the neighborhood parks, street infrastructure. Most immediate is the physical site repair of the historic Mt Zion Baptist Church building; which lost its main entry facade as a part of the freeway construction. In line with the Mission of this agency to improve the quality of life of underserved neighborhoods, our objective is to development both lots for the benefit of a community green space to include a butterfly garden and possibly a water feature. After conversations with Department of Transportation officials and City of Miami's Public Facilities Department, it is our understanding that because the FDOT parcel is adjacent to a 300 square foot lot currently owned by the City of Miami, FDOT plans to offer this same parcel to your agency as a part of an intergovernmental agreement for "first -right -of -refusal". By this letter, we request that the City of Miami and/or the CRA cooperate with our agency on the disposition of both lots with conveyance to Mt Zion Developments, Inc. (MZDI) to ensure that improvements occur as presented on the attached preliminary site plan. Please review the attached. Additionally, I have included information regarding MZDI to further highlight our Mission and ability to act as Project Management to ensure site improvements as indicated. As a follow up, I will phone later this week to further discuss recommendations regarding how best to coordinate the proposed activities. son Executive erector CC: C. Woods, CRA M.
