The meeting was called to order by Chair Spence -Jones at 12: 08 p.m. and was adjourned at 12:11 p.m. ALSO PRESENT: Clarence Woods, Executive Director, CRA Rafael Suarez -Rivas, Assistant General Counsel, CRA Todd B. Hannon, Clerk of the Board CRA RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK OF ATLANTA IN CONNECTION WITH THE REHABILITATION OF TOWN PARK NORTH, A 20-BUILDING, 169 UNIT AFFORDABLE CONDOMINIUM HOUSING COMPLEX IN OVERTOWN; FURTHER AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE. Votes: Ayes: Chair Spence -Jones, Commissioner Carollo, Vice Chair Gort, Commissioner Suarez and Commissioner Sarnoff CRA-R-13-0015 Chair Spence -Jones: I'd like to officially call to order the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) meeting for Southeast Overtown/Park West, March 14, the 12 p.m. meeting. It's a very short, brief meeting. Mr. Director, can you please put it on the record? Clarence Woods: Yes. Clarence Woods, the executive director of the Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA. And Commissioners, what you have before you is a resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency authorizing the executive director to apply for funding from the federal Horne Loan Bank of Atlanta, in connection with the rehabilitation of Town Park North, a 20-building, 169-unit affordable housing condominium housing complex in Overtown. As you remember -- well, as you all know, you've given us a directive to look for other ways of leveraging our financing. This particular reso, more specifically, is looking to help finance the additional development costs -- redevelopment costs for Town Park North. Town Park North is one of the projects that we were looking to finance with the bond money. But because it's a condominium, bond -- on the advice of bond counsel, we chose to remove Town Park North out of the validation process, so we'll look to fund their rehab out of our fund balance. And this is just to try to augment the funding that we're using to redevelop that condominium. Chair Spence -Jones: Do we have any questions or comments on this? Commissioner Carollo: And by the way -- Chair Spence -Jones: I -- Commissioner Carollo: Just one question. I just want to ver, all this is doing is just authorizing you to seek grant monies? Mr. Woods: That's it. And not just for Town Park North; any other housing development projects that we're doing, we'll be -- I mean, yeah, not just for Town Park North. It's -- yeah, grants for any other housing development projects that we'll be doing. Commissioner Sarnoff. Within the Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA. Commissioner Suarez: Good luck. Mr. Woods: Yes, yes. Chair Spence -Jones: And ifI can say to my fellow Commissioners -- first of all, thank you guys for your support. As Clarence mentioned earlier, we are really trying to leverage our dollars, so there's another grant I want to acknowledge Clarence -- Mr. Woods: Yes. Chair Spence -Jones: -- on. We just got it in -- Mr. Woods: Yes. Chair Spence -Jones: -- on two -- Mr. Woods: One point two million dollars to EDA (Economic Development Administration) for the Hospitality Institute. The Overtown Community Center that you guys allowed us to purchase, we put in a grant -- Chair Spence -Jones: So we're -- Mr. Woods: -- to EDA for $1.2 million. Chair Spence -Jones: -- really leveraging our dollars 'cause we think it's really important for us to do that. And Willy, if you don't mind, as the Vice Chair, do you mind working along with Clarence on this particular grant application to make sure that --?
