DUNN II Agenda Item: NUMBER AND TIME WAIVER OF SPECIAL PERMITS FOR FARMER'S MARKET IN OVERTOWN AT THE SOUTH FLORIDA LAND TRUST PROPERTY PURSUANT TO SECTION 62- 521(B)(4) AND (5) OF THE CITY CODE Subject: TEMPORARY EVENT PERMITS Impact: DISTRICT 5 Purpose of the Item: The purpose of this item is to extend the special permits for a Farmer's Market in Overtown at the South Florida Land Trust Property, located at 936 NW 2nd Ave., Miami, Florida occurring every Friday and Saturday for a period of eight months. Background Information: Community groups desire to have a farmer's market available to the community so that they would have access to fresh vegetables and fruits. Ordinarily, pursuant to Section 62-521, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), Temporary Events, such as farmer's markets, are limited to no more than two (2) events per year per property for no longer than two (2) weeks each. Section 62-521 (b) (4) and (5), of the City Code, allows the number and time limitations can be waived upon affirmative vote. The Overtown community would like a Farmers' Market in South Florida Land Trust Property, located at 936 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida, occurring every Friday and Saturday for a period of eight months. 2 D5 Agenda Summary Memo 04.0411
