HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 vww✓.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00312 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LOCAL AGENCY PROGRAM AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT") FOR THE DOWNTOWN MIAMI SIGNAGE & WAYFINDING SYSTEM ("PROJECT"), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM; FURTHER ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM FDOT OF $1,000,000 FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Authority and the City of Miami ("City") applied for and were awarded a federal grant in the amount of $1,000,000 from the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") for the Downtown Miami Signage & Wayfinding System ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the scope of work consists of the design and implementation of the Project, including new vehicular, pedestrian and parking wayfinding signage, and improvements to the public right-of-way, such as the removal of repetitive and aging signs, and the installation of district gateway and destination signs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings found in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the Local Agency Participation Agreement for the Project, in substantially the attached form. Section 3. The City accepts the $1,000,000 grant from FDOT for implementation of the Project. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
