Nzeribe (Zerry) Ihekwaba, PhD, PE Director, Public Works Department City of Miami P H : 305.416.1050 FX: 305.416.1278 Visit us at: www.miamigov.com/Public Works/pages/home 11- 002608-Ema -Nmeltimeof fo �'119ev) - -fernCg LI from tqc ri I �, 201 ! one rnr0 I�C�rny ..TITLE A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION SUPPORTING A MIAM-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN CARRIED OUT BY THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST, WHICH WOULD INCLUDE THE DESIGN, INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF COLLECTION DEVICES (DONATION METERS) TO BE PLACED, AS PERMITTED BY LAW, THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COUNTY'S HOMELESS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES; FURTHER SUPPORTING THE PLACEMENT OF SAID COLLECTION DEVICES ON CITY OF MIAMI AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY MAINTAINED RIGHTS -OF -WAY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA. ..BODY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 1023-09, which supports the Miami -Dade County's Homeless Trust's Public Awareness Campaign that includes the design, installation and maintenance of collection devices (donation meters) to be placed, as permitted by law, throughout the County to enable individuals to contribute to the County's homeless programs and services; and WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 10-07 amending the Code of Miami -Dade County, Florida, by allowing for the placement of Homeless Trust donation meters on Miami -Dade County maintained rights -of -way; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to support this worthy awareness campaign carried out by the Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Commission of the City of Miami hereby supports a Miami -Dade County Public Awareness Campaign carried out by the Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust, which would include the design, installation and maintenance of collection devices (donation meters) to be placed, as permitted by law, throughout the County to enable individuals to contribute to the County's homeless programs and services. Section 3. The Commission of the City of Miami further supports the placement of said collection devices on City of Miami and Miami -Dade County maintained rights -of -way within the corporate limits of the City of Miami, Florida. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JULIE O.
