A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
PLACEMENT OF A MARKER DESIGNATION, PURSUANT TO SECTION 54-136(1)
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, IN THE PUBLIC
RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 6700 NORTHWEST 2ND
AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO COMMEMORATE BISHOP ABE RANDALL,
PASTOR OF ST. MATTHEWS FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH; SUBJECT TO ALL
APPLICABLE PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS.
WHEREAS, Bishop Abe Randall has been the pastor of St. Matthews Free Will Baptist Church for
the past forty-two (42) years; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Randall has been heavily involved in the community through his work with the
Food and Clothing Ministry and the Substance Abuse Ministry; and
WHEREAS, the community and the church would like to show their appreciation for his many
years of service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami would like to donate a marker designation to be placed in the public
right-of-way in order to commemorate Bishop Abe Randall's pastoral and community service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The placement of a marker designation, pursuant to Section 54-136(1) of the Code of
the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, in the public right-of-way located at approximately 6700
Northwest 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida, to commemorate Bishop Abe Randall, pastor of St. Matthews
Free Will Baptist Church, is authorized, subject to all applicable permitting requirements.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
