The Equal Opportunity Advisory Board was created to review and recommend to the City
Commission the adoption of amendments/revisions to the City' s affirmative action plan. The board
also reviews employment policies and practices of the City and makes recommendations to the
Department of Employee Relations.
Eight (8) appointments are required at this time:
• Chairman Wifredo (Willy) Gort has one (2) nominations for seats currently held by:
1. Vacant
2. Miriam Urra, incumbent, whose term expires February 11, 2011, has exceeded the number
of allowed absences (5 in 2010) and would require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance.
• Vice Chairman Frank Carollo has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by:t
1. Rebeca Alvarez -Mena, incumbent, whose term expired July 12, 2007, has exceeded the
number of allowed absences (8 absences in 2007), and would require a 4/5ths waiver of
attendance.
2. Vacant.
• Commissioner Marc David Sarnoff has one (1) nomination for a seat currently:3'
1. Vacant
• Commissioner Richard Dunn II has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:*
1. Charles Flowers, incumbent, whose term expires February 11, 2011, has served as a
member since April 26, 2001 and would require a term waiver by a unanimous (5/5ths)
vote of the Commission.

• FOP has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:tt
1. Viona Brown, incumbent, whose term expired May 13, 2010, has served as a member
since February 8, 2001 and would require a term waiver by a unanimous (5/5ths) vote of
the Commission.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this
memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the March 10, 2011 Commission
agenda.
