Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager to
submit an application for grant funding to the Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") Waterways
Assistance Program, in an amount not to exceed $800,000 for the new Miami Marine Park at Virginia
Key design and permitting project ("Project"); authorizing the allocation of the required matching
funds of fifty percent (50%) of the project costs, in an amount not to exceed $800,000, to be provided
by the Miami Marine Park at Virginia Key Design and Permitting Project available under Capital
Improvement Project B-39903 Waterfront Improvement Citywide; authorizing the City Manager to
execute any other necessary documents for the submission of said grant application for fiscal year
2011-2012.
Background Information:
The Office of Grants. Administration is seeking City Commission authorization to apply for $800,000
in grant funding from the Florida Inland Navigation District to support the restoration of the new
Miami Marine Park design and permitting project. The item includes language by Rule 66B-2,
Florida Administrative Code, for grant submittal to the Waterways Assistance Program.
