HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-11-0111City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-11-0111 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00119 Final Action Date: 3/24/2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AWARDED TO MARITIME MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS, LLC, D/B/A DIGITAL VIDEO SYSTEMS, TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL GOODS AND SERVICES REQUIRED FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT, AT THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE, PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BID NO. 206203, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $6,649.50, PLUS A $2,000 OWNER CONTINGENCY TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE, THEREBY INCREASING THE TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT FROM $166, 479.50 TO $175,129; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE FROM ACCOUNT CODE. P=18-180011, T=01.08, A=1564, E=66400, 0=181000. WHEREAS, on October 28, 2010, the Miami City Commission adopted Resolution No. 10-0478, accepting the bid received August 18, 2010, pursuant to Invitation for Bid No. 206203, from Maritime Mobile Communications, LLC, d/b/a Digital Video Systems, in the amount of $151,345, for the Purchase and Installation of Audio Visual Equipment for the Department of Fire -Rescue at the City's Emergency Operations Center ("EOC") located at the College of Policing (the "Project"), and further authorizing a ten percent (10%) owner contingency of $15,134.50 to be utilized by the Department of Fire -Rescue without further City Commission approval for a total amount of $166,479.50; and WHEREAS, the Department of Fire -Rescue has subsequently determined during the ongoing installation processes that additional goods and services (requiring the use of the ten percent (10%) owner contingency of $15,134.50 plus an additional not to exceed amount of $6,649.50 plus an additional owner contingency of $2,000 for a total increase of $23,784) are required for the purchase and installation of additional Audio Visual Equipment for the EOC Project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 10-0209, adopted by the City Commission on May 27, 2010, the EOC Project is eligible for the City's Department of Fire -Rescue to submit for reimbursement of funding under the previously authorized, ongoing and extended Urban Area Security Initiative ("UASI") Grant Program 2007 Agreement, as amended from time to time, between the City and the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management administering the UASI funding on behalf of the United States Department of Homeland Security Office of Grants and Training; and WHEREAS, the additional goods and services include: the capability (equipment and programming) to see four (4) simultaneous channels on television monitors located in the Planning and Policy Rooms of the EOC to enhance the ability to monitor news events; and WHEREAS, the additional goods and services also include the capability (equipment and programming) to see four (4) simultaneous channels on a projector which will allow the Planning Section of the EOC to project onto the wall simultaneously the Situation Report, Resource Tracking, Event Log, Incident Action Report, GIS Maps, and other Situational Awareness documents/maps and City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 11-00119 (Version: 1) Printed On: 10/2/2017 File Number: 11-00119 Enactment Number: R-11-0111 further enhance programming on the matrix and control board to handle the additional equipment being installed; and WHEREAS, the additional goods and services furthermore include improvements of the ability to hear the audio components in the overflow section of the EOC by installing two (2) additional speakers with an amplifier and have wiring, equipment, and programming installed so that the images portrayed via the projectors located in the overflow section of the EOC can be managed during EOC activation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. An increase in the contract awarded to Maritime Mobile Communications, LLC., d/b/a Digital Video Systems, to provide additional goods and services required for the purchase and installation of Audio Visual Equipment at the Emergency Operations Center, for the Department of Fire -Rescue, pursuant to Invitation for Bid No. 206203, in an amount not to exceed $6,649.50, plus a $2,000 owner contingency to be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue, thereby increasing the total contract from $166,479.50 to $175,129, is authorized, with funds for said increase allocated from Account Code. P=18-180011, T=01.08, A=1564, E=66400, 0=181000. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {1} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
