An ordinance amending Chapter 35 of the City Code entitled "Motor Vehicles and Traffic" to clarify
existing language regarding the parking facilities surcharge.
Background Information:
City of Miami is authorized to collect a per vehicle surcharge for the sale, lease, or rental of space
at parking facilities within the City. The City's current collection of the surcharge substantially reduces
the City's ad valorem tax millage and improves transportation within the City and the City wishes to
ensure its current collection of the parking surcharge complies with the requirements of Florida
Statute 166.271.
