HomeMy WebLinkAboutSummary FormDate: 1/27/2011 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: 6 r Law Department Matter ID No. Requesting Department: Risk Management Commission Meeting Date: 3/10/2011 District Impacted: All Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Health Benefit Consulting Services and Actuarial Service, RFQ 260247 Purpose of Item: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission accept the recommendation of the City Manager approving the findings of the evaluation committee pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 260247, qualifying firms for the provision of health benefits consulting services and actuarial services as listed on "Attachment A," and, further authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute agreements, on an as needed basis with any of the listed firms qualified under the categories of expertise as specified on Attachment A, depending on the specific health benefits and/or actuarial needs of the City for a base term of one (1) year with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods. Background Information: Health Benefit Consulting Services and Actuarial Service are needed to provide professional analysis of the City's Health benefit plans, on a monthly and quarterly basis. City of Miami issued RFQ No. 260247 seeking qualified and experienced firms for the provisions of Health Benefit Consulting Services and Actuarial Service. On January 12, 2011, the Purchasing Department issued Request for Qualifications No. 260247. Proposals were received by the City Clerk on January 31, 2011. Eight (8) proposals were received. An Evaluation Committee created by the City Manager reviewed and evaluated the Proposals and qualified each of the firms for each of the categories as specified on Attachment A. The City reserves the right at any time during the term of the Contract and at its sole discretion, to allow the addition of other qualified firms or categories to be added to the Contract to meet the needs of the City.
