Background Information: On July 22, 2010, the City of Miami ("City") issued a Request For Letters of Interest (RFLI) for the operation of a concession facility to sell food and beverages within the Grapeland Aquatic Center, a water theme park located at 1550 N.W. 37th Avenue, Miami, Florida. There were three qualified respondents that submitted proposals by the deadline of August 25, 2010 which were reviewed by an Evaluation Committee that was appointed by the City Manager. The qualified respondents were 1) Alirio's, Inc. d/b/a Juniors Catering of Miami, 2) New York Roma Pizza & Pasta, Inc. and 3) Toby's Concession Services, Inc. The Evaluation Committee selected Alirio's, Inc. d/b/a Juniors Catering of Miami ("Concessionaire") as the successful respondent based on its proposal and recommended the City negotiate a Concession Agreement ("Agreement") with the successful respondent. The Evaluation Committee further recommended that if an Agreement could not be reached with Alirio's, Inc., then the City should negotiate with the second rated respondent, New York Roma Pizza & Pasta, Inc. The Agreement is for a term of three (3) years with two one-year options to renew. The Concessionaire shall pay the City a monthly fee of $2,500.00 and 21% of concession facility gross revenue plus State of Florida Use Tax, if applicable. Concessionaire will also contribute $2,500.00 annually to the media toward advertising the Grapeland Aquatic Center that must receive prior written approval from the Director of Parks and Recreation as to the design of the advertising and selected media. Administration is requesting the City Commission approve the recommendations of the City Manager. Page 2 of 2
