HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-11-0056City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-11-0056 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00130 Final Action Date: 2/10/2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF NEW STREET AND PEDESTRIAN LIGHTING BEGINNING ON SOUTHEAST 15TH ROAD NORTH TO SOUTHEAST 5TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE OFFICIALS DESIGNATED HEREIN. WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has approved the replacement of the street lighting fixtures beginning at Southeast 15th Road north to Southeast 5th Street, Miami, Florida, in order for the lighting to be compatible with the modern and contemporary character of Brickell Avenue; and WHEREAS, FDOT requires a resolution from the City of Miami ("City") approving the new street lighting fixtures; and WHEREAS, there is no financial impact to the City as funds for the lighting fixtures have been appropriated as part of the Brickell Avenue Roadway Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami City Commission approves the installation of new street and pedestrian lighting beginning on Southeast 15th Road north to Southeast 5th Street, Miami, Florida, by the FDOT. Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Harold Desdunes, FDOT Director of Transportation Development and to Gus Pego, P.E., FDOT District 6 Secretary. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
