OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY
MEMORANDUM
TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission
FROM: Julie O. Bru, City Attorney°/
DATE: November 29, 2010
RE: Proposed Ordinance for City Commission Meeting
December 16, 2010; amending Chapter 2, Article V of the Code of
the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, entitled
"Administration/Conflicts of Interest", relating to which officials are
required to disclose ownership of real estate.
The attached proposed Ordinance amends Chapter 2, Article V of the Code of the City
of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), entitled "Administration/Conflicts of Interest".
Section 2-615 of Article V, requires members of the Planning Advisory Board and
Zoning Board to file a disclosure of real estate located within the corporate limits of the City or
those properties located 500 feet beyond the corporate limits of the City between November 1
and December 1 of each year. The Planning Advisory Board and Zoning Board were
sunsetted in May, 2010, and the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board was established.
This Ordinance updates Section 2-615 (a) of the City Code, to remove the sunsetted
boards and include the new board. The amendment also clarifies some language of Sections
2-615 (b) and (c) of the City Code.
