The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on November 17,
2011, to consider the award of an agreement, in the amount of
$94,452.00, to the Foundation of Community Assistance and Leadership,
Inc., a Florida not -for -profit corporation (FOCAL), for the 2011-2012
contract period, with an option to renew for a one (1) year period for the
same amount and under the same terms and conditions, for the provision
of after school tutoring, counseling, and computer educational services
for at risk youth at the City of Miami's Moore Park, and to consider the City
Manager's recommendation and finding that competitive negotiation
methods are not practicable or advantageous regarding these issues.
Inquiries regarding this notice may be addressed to LaCleveia Morley,
Department of Parks and Recreation at (305) 416- 1332.
This action is being considered pursuant to Section 18-86 (services
related to educational services and activities provided by non-profit
organizations within city parks) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida,
as amended. The recommendation and finding to be considered in this
matter are set forth in the proposed resolution and in this Code Section,
which are deemed to be incorporated by reference herein and are
available as public records from the City of Miami. The Public Hearing will
be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled City Commission
meeting of November 17, 2011 at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American
Drive, Miami, Florida.
All interested individuals are invited to attend this hearing and may
comment on the proposed issue. Should any person desire to appeal any
decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered
at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the
