HomeMy WebLinkAboutSubmittal-Administration-Update by Intergovernmental Affairs Liaison on HB 1363BILLBOARDS In the House Transportation package, (HB 1363 by Representative Brandes and Bembry), language was amended to cap the fees local governments can charge on sign permitting to no more than $500.00 per sign. This language was amended into the House package as a means to target fees charged by the City of Miami and does have an impact on other cities around the state. It is possible that an attempt may be made to pass amendments into the Senate transportation bill or even on the Senate transportation conforming budget bill during the conference committee process, to mirror the language in the House bill. All of the City of Miami's lobby team has been activated on this issue for some time this session. As the Session nears the budget conference process and nears the end of session, we must remain vigilant. The Team is focused on identifying any and all amendment language that may be unacceptable to the City and work to fight for its defeat.
