A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "RECORDS
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, CONSISTING OF A
GRANT FROM THE MIAMI-DADE OFFICE OF GRANTS COORDINATION, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $26,538; FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND TO EXECUTE, AFTER
CONSULTATION WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY, THE RELATED GRANT
DOCUMENTS, AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN ORDER TO
IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT FOR
SAID PURPOSES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, AFTER
CONSULTATION WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE AND TO
EXECUTE ANY EXTENSIONS TO SAID GRANT FOR SIMILAR PERIODS FOR
THE SAME AMOUNT AND SAME TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Office of Grants Coordination has approved a grant
award, in the amount of $26,538, for the purpose of facilitating the City of Miami ("City") Department
of Police's efforts to create an organized system of records management to provide for a smooth
process in recording and accessing criminal justice information; and
WHEREAS, this award does not require any local match; and
WHEREAS, said grant program is for the period of October 1, 2010, through September 30,
2011;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:
FUND TITLE: Records Improvement Project
RESOURCES: Miami -Dade County/Office of Grants Coordination $26,538
APPROPRIATIONS: $26,538
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to negotiate and to execute, after consultation

with the City Attorney, the related grant documents and all other necessary documents in order to
implement the acceptance and administration of and compliance with said grant for said purposes.
Section 4. The City Manager is further authorize {1 }, after consultation with the City Attorney,
to negotiate and to execute any extensions to said grant for similar periods for the same amount and
same terms and conditions.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
