Law Department Matter ID No. Purpose of Item: A Resolution of the Miami City Commission authorizing the (1) acceptance of one reimbursement grant from The Children's Trust for, respectively, Safe and Supportive Communities: Service Partnership and Youth Violence Prevention Program ($899,269.78) and (2) creating the related Special Revenue Project funds to appropriate said funds, (3) authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and to execute, after consultation with the City Attorney, contract with The Children's Trust in substantially the attached form for the program, (4) authorizing the City Manager, after consultation with the City Attorney, to negotiate and execute Professional Service Agreements and all other necessary documents with individuals, not —for profit organizations and other service providers for the programs at the designated schools within the City commencing as of November 1, 2010 through October 31S`, 2011, with renewals at the option of The. Children's Trust. This program is coordinated and administered through the Mayor's Education Initiatives and Miami -Dade County Public Schools. Background Information: In addition to the above information: For the Safe and Supportive Communities: Service Partnership and Youth Violence Prevention Program the City will enter into a Professional Service Agreement for the not to exceed amount of$638,980.78 with Miami -Dade County Public Schools for program facilitator services, and with the Clerk of the Court eleventh (11t) Judicial Court not to exceed amount of $6,328,50 for truancy court summons, court dates, and entering court hearing information into the Miami Dade County Mainframe System.
