AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AMENDING CHAPTER 31/ARTICLE II /SECTION 31-50 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "LOCAL BUSINESS TAX
AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS REGULATIONS/LOCAL BUSINESS TAX (BTR)
SCHEDULE OF ESTABLISHED BTRS," BY UPDATING THE CATEGORY
SECTION FOR SOME FEES, AND ADJUSTING CERTAIN FEES; CONTAINING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Miami ("City") to update the Code of the City of Miami,
Florida, as amended ("City Code"), to reflect the term Local Business Tax Receipt ("BTR"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute 205.0535, the City has adopted the rate structure as set
forth in the City Code; and
WHEREAS, the rates for BTRs may be increased every other year by up to five percent (5%); and
WHEREAS, rates for the City may be decreased by the City Commission at any time by
ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 31/Article II of the City Code, entitled "Local Business Tax and Miscellaneous
Business Regulations/Local Business Tax/Schedule of established BTRs," is amended in the
following particulars:{1}
"CHAPTER 31
LOCAL BUSINESS TAX AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS REGULATIONS
ARTICLE II. LOCAL BUSINESS TAX (BTR)
Sec. 31-50. SCHEDULE OF ESTABLISHED BTR's.

The assessments of BTRs are hereby fixed as follows:

Enactment Number: 13230
Section 3. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this
Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after final reading and adoption
thereof.{2}

shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks
indicate omitted and unchanged material.
{2} This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within
ten days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the
effective date stated herein, whichever is later.
