A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $400,000, FROM THE DISTRICT 2 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
RESERVE ACCOUNT; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI
DEPARTMENT OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, FOR STREET
IMPROVEMENTS IN THE NORTH SHORECREST AREA, MIAMI, FLORIDA;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 07-0315, adopted June 12, 2007, the Miami City
Commission approved the allocation of funds in the amount of $459,937 to the District 2 Economic .
Development Reserve Account; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Department of Capital Improvement Program ("CIP") is
responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of all construction related
capital projects in the City of Miami ("City"), and for the financial management of all capital funds; and
WHEREAS, the streets in the Shorecrest area of District 2, Miami, Florida, are currently in
disrepair with drainage problems that have to be corrected; and
WHEREAS, the Shorecrest, Miami, Florida, area qualifies as a low or moderate income
community and the street improvement qualifies for Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG")
funding as improvement to public facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG funds, in the amount of
$400,000, from the District 2 Economic Development Reserve Account, and the allocation of said
funds to CIP for public facilities and improvement activities for street improvements in the North
Shorecrest area, Miami, Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of CDBG funds, in the amount of $400,000, from the District 2
Economic Development Reserve Account and the allocation of said funds to CIP, for street
improvements in the North Shorecrest area, Miami, Florida, is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute all necessary documents for said
purpose.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor. {2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
