A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT") WITH ADA ENGINEERING, INC., FOR THE
PROVISION OF MISCELLANEOUS CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES, IN THE
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $350,000, THEREBY INCREASING THE TOTAL
CONTRACT AMOUNT FROM AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,250,000 TO AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED.$1,600,000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY
THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; ALLOCATING FUNDS, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $350,000, FROM THE APPROPRIATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, on February 7, 2008, pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 06-07-019, the City of
Miami ("City") executed a Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement") with ADA Engineering, Inc.
("ADA"), for the provision of Miscellaneous Civil Engineering Services in an amount not to exceed
$500,000; and
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2008, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 08-0696,
authorizing Amendment No. 1, which increased the Agreement expenditure limit by a not to exceed
amount of $500,000, from an original $500,000 to a total not to exceed amount of $1,000,000; and
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2010, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 10-0061,
authorizing Amendment No. 2, which increased the Agreement expenditure limit by a not to exceed
amount of $250,000, from $1,000,000 to a total not to exceed amount of $1,250,000; and
WHEREAS, ADA was tasked with completing the City's Drainage Master Plan Update; and
WHEREAS, the primary objective of this project is to analyze areas of flood concern which impact
public safety and property Toss; and
WHEREAS, the findings will allow the City to further develop a comprehensive five (5) year Capital
Improvement Plan identifying Citywide drainage improvement areas and enhancements; and
WHEREAS, the Drainage Master Plan Update also allows the City to improve on its National
Insurance Flood Program -Community Rating System which enables residents to receive discounts on
flood insurance premium rates; and
WHEREAS, the current remaining contract balance is not sufficient to cover the remaining costs
anticipated for this project; and
WHEREAS, it • is now necessary to enter into Amendment No. 3 with ADA, increasing the
Agreement by a not to exceed amount of $350,000, from $1,250,000 to a final not to exceed amount

of $1,600,000; and
WHEREAS, funds are to be allocated from the appropriate Capital Improvement Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully .yet forth in this Section.
Section 2. An increase to the Agreement with ADA, for the provision of Miscellaneous Civil
Engineering Services in the amount of $350,000, thereby increasing the total contract amount from an
amount not to exceed $1,250,000 to an amount not to exceed $1,600,000, is authorized, with funds in
the amount not to exceed $350,000, allocated from the appropriate Capital Improvement Project.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
