City of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com DS Poct rl- 3 File Number: 10-01262 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF A MARKER DESIGNATION, PURSUANT TO SECTION 54-136(1) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY THE CORNER OF NORTHWEST 59TH STREET AND NORTHWEST 12TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO COMMEMORATE REV. DOUGLAS COOK SR., PASTOR OF JORDAN GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH; SUBJECT TO ALL APPLICABLE PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS. WHEREAS, Rev. Douglas Cook Sr., has been the pastor of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church since 1968; and WHEREAS, Rev. Douglas Cook Sr,, has been heavily involved in the community for over twenty (20) years and consequently improved the lives of many residents; and WHEREAS, the community and the church would like to show their appreciation for his many years of service to both; and WHEREAS, the City would like to donate a marker designation to be placed in the public right-of-way in order to commemorate Rev. Douglas Cook Sr.'s pastoral and community service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The placement of a marker designation, pursuant to Section 54-136(1) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, in the public right-of-way located at approximately the corner of Northwest 59th Street and Northwest 12th Avenue, Miami, Florida, to commemorate Rev. Douglas Cook Sr., pastor of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church, is hereby authorized, subject to all applicable permitting requirements. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FOR JULIE O.
