BACKGROUND INFORMATION: PURCHASING AND INSTALLATION OF AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT, IFB
206203
The City of Miami is seeking to purchase and install audio visual equipment for the Emergency
Operations Center (EOC) located at the Miami Police College of Policing. This equipment will enable the
City to carry out the various functions of the EOC which is to collect, gather, and analyze data in order to
make decisions that protect life and property, and maintain continuity of the organization, and
disseminate those decisions to all concerned agencies and individuals. The EOC is a central command
and control facility responsible for carrying out the principles of emergency preparedness and
emergency management, or disaster management functions at a strategic level in an emergency
situation to ensure the continuity of those services provided to the citizens of the City of Miami.
On June 24, 2010, the Purchasing Department issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB No. 206203). As required
by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued online. On August 18, 2010, at the bid
opening, two (2) bids were submitted and are tabulated. The Purchasing Department is recommending
award to Maritime Mobile Communications, LLC., d/b/a Digital Video Systems, the lowest responsive
and responsible bidder, per bid specifications. The total contract amount is $151,345.00.
