HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 10-01247 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "NIJ FY 2010 PAUL COVERDELL FORENSIC SCIENCE IMPROVEMENT GRANTS PROGRAM", AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE/OFFICE OF v JUSTICE PROGRAMS, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF JUSTICE, IN THE AMOUNT Q C"'9 CD OF $150,050, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE A I I ACHED FORM, AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has a strong interest in enhancing service in the forensic science field; and 4-) Oa WHEREAS, the City submitted a grant application to the United States Department of Justice requesting funding for specialized forensic equipment, overtime for crime scene and technical services, personnel costs and an administrative cost allocation; and WHEREAS, on September 14, 2010, the City received notification that said application was approved for funding, and that the City was awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $150,050, in federal funds by the United States Department of Justice; and WHEREAS, this grant award does not require any local match; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2.
