Purpose of Item:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution, pursuant to
Section 18.82 (a) of the Code of the City of Miami, as amended, classifying the following items from
the Department of Police as Category "A" surplus stock: three (3) Remington 40X, 308 caliber rifles,
serial numbers 061889B, 057451 B and 060159B; authorizing the donation of said surplus stock, with
an estimated value of $700.00 each, to the Doral Police Department to be used for the implementation
of its own S.W.A.T. team, upon the execution of the appropriate release documents.

The Doral Police Department has reached out to the City of Miami Police Department's SWAT team to
request its assistance via the donation of spare sniper rifles to be used in the implementation of a
S.W.A.T. team within the Doral Police Department.
The City of Miami Police Department has several spare sniper rifles that are no longer usable by the
SWAT team in their day-to-day operations and wishes to donate three Remington 40X, 308 caliber rifles
to the Doral Police Department. These rifles, although serviceable, have been in inventory for a
prolonged period and are not utilized. Pursuant to City Code Section 18-82, Category "A" stock shall be
available for disposition as the city's contribution or the city's commitment in support of a particular public
purpose which may include those community, civic or social service programs as may be authorized by
the City Commission.
