A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION PURSUANT TO SECTION
18-82(A), OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, AS AMENDED, CLASSIFYING
THREE (3) REMINGTON 40X, .308 CALIBER RIFLES, SERIAL NUMBERS
061889B, 057451 B AND 060159B, FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI POLICE
DEPARTMENT'S SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS ("S.W.A.T.") TEAM, WITH AN
ESTIMATED VALUE OF $700 EACH, AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS STOCK;
AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SAID SURPLUS STOCK TO THE DORAL
POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE USED BY THEIR DEPARTMENT IN IMPLEMENTING
THEIR S.W.A.T. TEAM, UPON THE EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE
RELEASE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City's") Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics
("S.W.A.T.") team has six (6) spare sniper rifles that are no longer used by the team in their
day-to-day operations and wishes to donate three (3) Remington 40X, .308 caliber rifles to the Doral
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Procurement Officer has declared said rifles as surplus stock; and
WHEREAS, Section 18-82(a), of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City
Code"), entitled "Disposal of surplus city -owned personal property," states that a surplus declared as
Category "A" stock, shall be available for disposition as the City's contribution or the City's
commitment in support of a particular public purpose, which may include those community, civic or
social service programs as may be authorized by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, said donated rifles will assist the Doral Police Department in the implementation of
their S.W.A.T. team; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of the Doral Police Department's S.W.A.T. team will eventually
be beneficial and supportive to the City's Police Department in the form of mutual aid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 18-82(a), of the City Code, three (3) Remington 40X, .308
caliber rifles, serial numbers 061889B, 057451 B and 060159B, from the City Police Department's
S.W.A.T. team, with an estimated value of $700 each, are classified as Category "A" surplus stock.
Section 3. The donation of said surplus stock to the Doral Police Department, is authorized,

upon the execution of the appropriate release documents.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
