Background Information: The City of Miami piggybacked on an existing Coral Gables Agreement (Resolution #04- 0022) awarded on January 8, 2004 and was effective through September 30, 2006 for disposal and yard waste processing services. Subsequently, this Agreement had an option to renew for 5 one (1) year periods at the option of the City. The City of Coral Gables renewed this Agreement on October 6, 2006 (Resolution # 2005-227.1) for a 5-year term upon the initial terms of the Agreement with modifications prescribed in the attached Agreement through September 30, 2010 (attached as source documents upon which the City of Miami "piggybacked" for its yard waste disposal). This Agreement established disposal fees at $46.37 per ton, effective October 1, 2006, which is an adjustment increase based on the CPI annual rate as indicated in the annual contractual increase referenced in Section 6B(2) of the Agreement. The estimated amount for total disposal fees will not exceed $1,380,000.00 and cannot be increased without prior approval of the City's Office of Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Performance.
