The Department ofpohli° Works respectfully requests your approval and action ofthc Miami City Commission by a 4/Stba affirmative vote, to award an agreement in the amount of511 L,360 to Condo Elecizic Motor Repair, Carp. (Condo Electric), The contract period would be for -200$ with an option to renew fox two additional me- mo' r' periods. This contract is for the parovisian of citywide storm water pump station maintenance and the addition ofa mairstonanre obligation for the NW 146 Street Pump Station, to be covered by the agreement, and provisions to cover related contest expenses in the amount of approximately 88,840 to be incurred by taw City. Pursuant to Resolution No. 03-1024, adopted of September 26, 2003, the City Commission accepted the bid of Condo Electric, for the project entitled, "Ci ie Stozuslwater Pump Station Maintenance Contract f-5696," in the amount of 91,160, plus 58,840 to cover esth mated expenses incurred by the City. The agreement that was executed between the City and Cando Electric dueugh Resolution No. 03-1024 included a special provision that would allow renewal of the contract for mono additional one-year periods, provided that the City notify the contractor 30 days prior to the expirtatlon of the agreement. As a result of the enormous hurricane activity dung the months of A,uguit and September and the need to prepare and mobilize Public Works essential functions, the notice of -contract extension to Condo Electric was delayed and not Ott within the specified time, resulting in the termination of this agnsemeot on September 25, 2004, The purpose of this emergency cncy Resolution as to request an emergency bid waiver pursuant to Section 18-89(b) of the City Code which authorises the City Manager to waive the competitive bid method by written Ding. At this time, the Public Works Department emends re-entering into an agreement with Codo Electric with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods.
