Director City Manager Pare 1 of 1 i UA ,i t (4(oe AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM BACKGROUND INFORMATION The City of Miami was awarded a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) the Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration (CCF) Grant in the amount of $500,000 per year for three (3) years for the Miami NICE Initiative, a capacity -building program for faith -based and community organizations in the community. As a condition of the program design of the Miami NICE Grant, specialized consultants are needed to meet CCF Grant's five (5) capacity building areas; Community Engagement, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, Program Development and Revenue Development. Consultants are to provide services to improve the capacity for Faith -Based and Community organizations to strengthen their ability to access and manage funds from diverse sources, develop and train staff, expand the types and reach of social services programs and develop promising collaborations among organizations dedicated to social service delivery. Miami NICE has received proposals for Direct Consulting Services for the Miami NICE Initiative pursuant Miami NICE RFQ 2008-1. The attached list is the highest ranked firms recommended to provide consulting services. The first year of the Miami NICE program has been extended. Since year one and year two are running simultaneously, consultants are needed for two years (November 2008 to September 2010) as the RFQ process occurred late in the first year of the project.
