HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-08-0669City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-08-0669 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-01377 Final Action Date: 12/11/2008 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING THE PROPOSALS OF THE HIGHEST -RANKED FIRMS, AS LISTED ON "EXHIBIT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED " MIAMI NETWORK FOR INTEGRATION, COMPASSION AND EMPOWERMENT (MIAMI NICE)", FOR A ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD, TO PERFORM DIRECT CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE MIAMI NICE INITIATIVE, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $132,500; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT 15500.101000.531000.0000.00000. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") was awarded the Compassion Capital Grant Fund Demonstration Grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, in the amount of $500,000 per year for a three (3) year period, for the funding of Miami Network for Integration, Compassion and Empowerment ("Miami NICE"), a capacity -building program for faith -based and community organizations ("FCBOs") in the community; and WHEREAS, as a condition of the program design of the Miami NICE Grant, consultants are needed to meet the Compassion Capital Demonstration Fund Grant's five capacity building areas of Community Engagement, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, Program Development and Revenue Development; and WHEREAS, consultants are used to provided services to improve the capacity for FCBOs to strengthen their ability to access and manage funds from diverse sources, develop and train staff, expand the types and reach of social services programs and develop promising collaborations among organizations dedicated to social service delivery; and WHEREAS, Miami NICE has received proposals for Direct Consultant Services for the Miami NICE Initiative pursuant to Miami NICE Request for Qualifications 2008-1; and WHEREAS, the consultants, as listed on "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated, are the highest -ranked firms, recommended to provide said services; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute a Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement"), in substantially the attached form, for said purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 08-01377 (Version: 1) Printed On: 5/24/2017 File Number: 08-01377 Enactment Number: R-08-0669 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The proposals of the highest -ranked firm, as listed on "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated, for the project entitled "Miami NICE", for a one (1) year period, with the option to renew for an additional one (1) year period, to perform Direct Consulting Services for the Miami NICE Initiative, in an annual amount not to exceed $132,500, is accepted, with funds allocated from Special Revenue Project 15500.101000.531000.0000.00000. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to negotiate and to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
