Purpose of Item:
A Resolution authorizing an extension and amendment for ninety (90) days to the existing
Professional Services Agreement with Adopt -A -Waterway, LLC, through its successor by name
change, Ecomedia, LLC, with the option to renew such agreement thereafter on a month -to -month
basis until the earlier of (1) an additional ninety (90) days for a total of up to one hundred and eighty
(180) days, or (2) until such time as the City has selected an environmental sign program provider
pursuant to the requirements of the Code of the City of Miami.
Background Information:
The City of Miami entered into an agreement with Adopt -A -Waterway, LLC, effective as of
December 19, 2003 for a five (5) year period, for the implementation of educational environmental
programs as it relates to the protection of the waterfront and navigable canals. Although the
Agreement provides that the City Manager has one option to extend the term for an additional five (5)
period, the Administration believes it to be in the best interest of the City to instead enter into an
extension and amendment for ninety (90) days with the option to renew such agreement on a month -
to -month basis until the earlier of (1) an additional ninety (90) days for a total of up to one hundred
and eighty (180) days, or (2) until such time the City has selected one or more environmental sign
program providers pursuant to requirements of the Code of the City of Miami.
