Purpose of Item: A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to increase the existing PSA by an amount not to exceed $100,000 for additional services with Leo A. Daly Company. As part of the Mayor's initiative to promote Green Building Practices, which will soon be integrated into the City's building codes, the City has requested a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ("LEED") certification for this project. This will increase the City Manager's authorization from $495,399.74 to a total contract amount not to exceed $595,399.74. Background Information: Budget Impact Analysis On August 27, 2008, the City issued a Request for Qualifications 06-07-030 ("RFQ") for Architectural and Engineering Services ("Services") for the design of the Melreese Clubhouse and Restaurant Project, B-30566 ("Project"),In response, six (6) Proposals were received on September 18, 2007, by the Department of Capital Improvements Program ("CIP") and an Evaluation Committee was then selected, approved by the City Manager, and met on December 11, 2007, to score and rank the top three firms based on their qualifications as stipulated in the submittals, and subsequently entered into an Agreement with Leo A. Daly Company, ("Consultant") the top ranked firm on March 14, 2008. A LEED certification consists of a feasibility study, modifications to the design to achieve certification and the registration and certification process with the United States Green Building Council ("USGBC").
