Subject: Resolution Authorizing Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission loan for
implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Land Management systems.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission declaring the official intent to borrow the expected
maximum principal amount not to exceed $20,000,000 as a loan from the Sunshine State
Governmental Financing Commission, for the purpose of financing the costs of acquisition,
equipping, creation, building, development, installation, and implementation of certain capital
improvements including, but not limited to, enterprise resource planning ("ERP") system, land
management systems and other associated technology infrastructure improvements.
Background Information:
On September 24, 2008, the City requested a loan from the Sunshine State Governmental Financing
Commission in a principal amount not to exceed $20,000,000 for the purposes of financing the costs
of acquisition, equipping, creation, building, development, installation, and implementation of certain
capital improvements including, but not limited to, enterprise resource planning ("ERP") system,
land management systems and other associated technology infrastructure improvements (collectively,
the "Technology Improvements Projects") as listed in "Exhibit I" of the attachment. The City also
intends to advance some of the Original Expenditures related to the project that will be reimbursed
from the proceeds of the Loan.
