REQUEST/LOCATION
This will allow temporary signs for performing arts venues
in the SD-6 and 6.1 Districts by Class I Special Permit,
and to increase the permissible square footage of real
estate signs as allowed by Miami -Dade County.

PETITION
An ordinance of the Miami City Commission, amending
Ordinance No. 11000, as amended, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Miami, Florida, in order to amend
Article 10, Section 10.6.3.6 to allow for temporary signs
for performing arts by Class I Special Permit; and, by
amending Section 10.3.2.4. Real Estate Signs to increase
the permissible square footage of real estate signs as
allowed by Miami -Dade County; containing a repealer
provision, a severability clause and providing for an
effective date.
PLANNING RECOMMENDATION Approval.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS The proposed amendment will allow temporary signs for
performing arts venues in the SD-6 and SD-6.1 Districts
by Class I Special Permit, and to increase the permissible
square footage of Real Estate signs as allowed by Miami -
Dade County.
PLANNING ADVISORY BOARD Recommended approval to City Commission on
September 17, 2008 by a vote of 7-1 with an amendment
to keep non-residential real estate signs not exceed
fifteen (15) square feet and residential real estate signs
not exceed one (1) square foot.
