The H-GAC Board awards all contracts, which can be made available to local government nationwide through HGACBuy. All products and services offered through HGACBuy have been awarded by virtue of a public competitive process. In the past, there has been a need for the City of Miami Police Department to piggyback from the HGACBuy Program Contract for Emergency Equipment and Supplies for the purchase of Speed Measuring Devices, requiring the execution of an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Miami and the Houston -Galveston Area Council in order to access such contract. It is therefore, recommended that this resolution be adopted in order for the City to continue to access this program and take advantage of its volume purchasing and discounts. The various contracts currently under the H-GACBuy Cooperative Purchasing Program include, but it's not limited to the following: Ambulances and Other Emergency Vehicles Fleet Services Equipment Medium and Heavy Trucks and Truck Bodies Current Model Cars & Light Trucks Fire Service Apparatus Radio Communication Equipment Wireless Telecomm Equipment & Services Video Conferencing Equipment & Services Grounds & Turf Equipment Modular & Portable Buildings Surveillance, Access Control & Security Fencing Earth Moving & Construction Equipment Refuse Containers & Lifters Auxiliary Power & Backup Generators Law Enforcement, Speed Detection & Video Recording Equipment Defibrillators, Portable Environmental, Community Planning, Engineering & Homeland Security Insurance Consulting Services Agenda Item Summary Form Con't- Authorizing the piggyback of various contracts under Houston -Galveston Area Council Cooperative Purchasing Program (HGACBUY)
