Background Information: On November 1, 1971, the City of Miami and Miami -Dade County entered into a lease agreement. providing for Miami -Dade County to lease, operate and maintain ten (10) library facilities from the City which lease has subsequently expired. On May 15, 2007, the Miami -Dade Public Library System and the City of Miami executed a new lease agreement (the "Lease") that contained new provisions and limited to eight (8) the number of City -owned parcels to be leased to Miami -Dade County for its libraries. The 2007 Lease with the County inadvertently included the parcel located at 160 NE 79th Street, Miami, Florida, (the "Property") which the City had deeded on February 1, 1989 to the Miami Parking Authority, subject to the then existing lease. The Property is where the Little River Library is located. The Miami Parking Authority as owner of the Property has the authority to enter into a lease with the County. The current amendment removes from the City's existing lease with the County, the parcel located at 160 NE 79th Street. The execution of the amendment will coincide with a new lease agreement being drafted by the Miami Parking Authority for it to lease the parcel to the County. Page 2 of 2
